Kenosha Tremper Trojans wrestling coach Joel Dutton was looking forward to getting his full lineup back on the mat in a big tournament.

He came away impressed as the full Tremper team completed its dismantling of the Holiday Duals Wednesday afternoon at Milwaukee Hamilton by compiling a 10-0 record in the state's largest two-day dual tournament.

Tremper finished with a 10-0 record at the tournament, followed by Marshall (9-1), Kenosha Bradford (8-2) and Wauwatosa (7-3) in the top four of the 12-team tournament.
"I'm proud of the guys," said Dutton, whose team improved to 19-4 overall this year. "We've come a long way. We wrestled pretty dog gone good."

The biggest match of the day was supposed to be between Tremper and Milwaukee Bradley Tech, ranked No. 10 in the area.

But Tech lost a pair of matches to Kenosha Bradford and Wauwatosa by identical 37-35 scores and lost confidence the rest of the second day as Tech finished 1-4 on the day and 6-4 overall.

Tremper came out on fire against Tech and won 11 of 14 matches, seven of which came by pin and another of which came by technical fall.

"We came out in that final round and really wrestled well," said Dutton. "We always expect to battle, but the guys really stepped it up for that final match. It's been a heck of a ride. We've got a nice, solid group of guys."

Tech, on the other hand, seemed snakebit a day after winning the Milwaukee City Conference dual title with a 5-0 record as the second afternoon wore on. It only got worse against Tremper.

"I'm frustrated," said Tech coach Craig Bevilacqua said. "I figured we would be in the top two. It's very frustrating. We came out flat. Where we're weak, we're really weak. We have a young and inexperience team."

Tremper had two losses at the Hartford Duals the second week of the season as four of its top wrestlers were taking ACTs.

Two of those wrestlers went 10-0 at Hamilton in senior David Hood at 135 pounds and senior Najee Parker at 285. Three other wrestlers also went 10-0 at Hamilton: sophomore Dominic Garcia (119), junior Levin Horton (140) and senior Trevor Mongeau (130).

Tremper wasn't even pushed at the tournament as only Marshall was able to score more than 15 points in Tremper's 49-24 victory on day one. Tremper finished with four shutouts.

Dutton now has his sights on seeing how well Tremper competes at the Mid-States next week at UW-Whitewater. Tremper is going to the 38-team tournament for the first time this year.

"I just want to see how we stack up," said Dutton. "I'm looking forward to it. It's okay if we get smacked around a little bit. Then we'll know what we have to work on."

	Final standings: 1, Kenosha Tremper, 1-0; 2, Marshall, 9-1; 3, Kenosha Bradford, 8-2; 4, Wauwatosa, 7-3; 5, Milwaukee Bradley Tech, 6-4; 6, Milwaukee Riverside, 5-5; 7, (tie) Kenosha St. Joes and Milwaukee Hamilton, 4-6; 9, Milwaukee King, 3-7; 10, Milwaukee Custer, 2-8; 11, Madison East, 2-8; 12, Milwaukee Bay View, 0-10.
