Menasha — On the strength of 10 champions and advancement all 14 wrestlers to
sectionals, the No. 1-ranked Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln Red Raiders won
their 16th straight WIAA Division 1 regional title with 312 points.

The regional title is the first step to a return trip to the team state
tournament as the Raiders will face Green Bay Preble/East in a team
sectional final at Appleton North on Tuesday.

“The regional win gets us in the team tournament and a chance to return to
team state,” Rapids coach Scott Benitz said.

The Raiders champions were Jason Munoz (103), Keegan Einerson (119), Ben
Westover (125), Jake Raflik (135), Rylan Lubeck (140), Zak Benitz (145),
Ryan Cone (152), Garrett Schilling (160), Devin Peterson (171) and Curt
Fuller (285).

The Raiders went 39-3 in 42 matches on the day.

“We won some close matches, but we also lost a couple close ones and this is
the time of the season you want to win the close matches,” Benitz said. “We still have some things to work on because we can be better.”

Stevens Point placed fifth in the team standings with 111 points and advanced three wrestlers to Saturday’s sectional in Green Bay.

Lucas Skibba moved on as the 285-pound runner-up, while Joe Mathe finished
third at 140 and Josh Laskowski placed fourth at 160.
