December 21-27
"I'm tickled pink," West Allis Central coach Jason Stromberg after his team won the E.H. Stech Invitational title for the first time since 1983.

December 14-20
"He did a nice job up there. That's a tough tournament," said Franklin coach Louis Brown on Sam Kortes' victory over Wisconsin Rapids Keegan Einerson. "No one would have expected that. It was a a really tough weight class and he wrestled really smart."

December 7-13, 2009
"He's a fine human being. There's nothing arrogant about him at all. He's been a friend of mine for a long time. I still think he could finish third at the Olympic Trials today. He's that fit," ~ Joe Kaster, Editor of The Crossface on Wisconsin State Athletic Hall of Fame inductee Lee Kemp, a three-time NCAA Division 1 wrestling champion at the University of Wisconsin. Kaster attended the induction ceremony along with Duane Kleven, Russ Hellickson, Mitch Hull and Andy Rein, among other UW wrestling greats.

February 23-March 2
“He was dumpy. He was awful when he was younger. But he built himself into what he is today. He earned it and he deserved it,” Pewaukee coach Ed Kurth, commenting on 189-pound Division 2 state champion Josh Mohr.

February 16-22
“Absolutely. I have to believe in our athletes and they have to believe in themselves or this won’t happen. It will be exciting to see a rematch,” Arrowhead coach John Mesenbrink on his belief that Jake Sueflohn could defeat No. 1-ranked Germantown sophomore Jesse Thielke. 

February 2-8
“I was proud to wear my finals singlet today. I know I made history in MPS today. I needed two pins to complete myself and make myself happy. I haven’t had the greatest year and this gives me a head start for regionals and makes me feel a little bit better about myself,” Milwaukee Hamilton senior 103-pounder Gina Zuvich after becoming the first girl in City Conference history to advance to the finals at the 2008 league meet at Milwaukee Bradley Tech. 
January 5-11
“It’s horrible. It’s Miserable. I don’t know why anybody lives here. I left North Carolina and it was 60 degrees. I came here and it was 8 degrees,” Jack Jensen, current North Carolina assistant coach and a Sheboygan North graduate Jack Jensen at the Cheesehead while checking out potential recruits.

December 28 - January 4
“They are unbelievable. They give me a run for my money every day (in practice). We just have to keep grinding it out. It’s a long season and you have to know when to peak. (Roland Dunlap) is my practice partner. He pushes me everyday.” - Muskego’s Derek Olson on the success of the Muskego freshmen this year after the Warriors won the Mid-State Classic.

December 22-27

December 14-21

December 7-13
